Approaching conflict differently
Distinguishing between solvable and perpetual problems. Turning recurring conflicts into an ongoing, respectful dialogue.
I support you in understanding conflicts and recurring relationship patterns and in working towards solutions together. In Hürth and Cologne, in German or English.

We discuss your personal concerns in a safe setting. You should be able to talk openly about what is on your mind, without judgment or premature assumptions.
We don’t focus solely on the problem, we look at possibilities for change. Together, we develop practical strategies and tools suited to your concerns and circumstances.1
My work draws on psychological research and established models of couples and systemic counseling. I translate professional perspectives into language that is clear and useful to you.2, 3
You bring your own experience, abilities and perspectives. In counseling, I see you as capable individuals who can take an active part in finding solutions.
Our conversations lead to ideas, exercises or small changes that you can explore in everyday life between sessions.1
I communicate clearly and directly, without unnecessary jargon. I name observations and connections openly while remaining respectful.1

Remaining connected and capable as a couple in family life, while constructively integrating different approaches to parenting.
Making sense of affairs, major transitions or thoughts of separation and developing a shared perspective for the future.
Talking about wishes, uncertainty or differing needs and finding a way forward together.
You can call me on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m., or contact me via the contact form, email or WhatsApp. If I am in a session, I will call you back. We will briefly discuss what brings you to counseling and arrange an appointment.
Your first appointment is already a full counseling session. In couples counseling, we make space for both perspectives; in individual counseling, we clarify your concerns together.
Individual sessions last 50 minutes and couples sessions 60 minutes. There is no counseling fee for the first session; in-person sessions incur a €23 room fee. From the second session onwards, my reduced training rate applies: individual sessions cost €75 in person, and couples sessions cost €85 in person. Both prices include the €23 room fee. Online sessions cost €50 for individuals and €60 for couples from the second session onwards. Counseling is available in German and English. I will inform you of the cancellation policy before your booking becomes binding. Sessions take place in Hürth-Fischenich or Cologne-Lindenthal. Online counseling is also available upon request.
I am Isabel Horn, a psychologist and psychomotor development specialist. I am currently completing my training in systemic counseling at the Cologne Institute for Systemic Counseling and Therapy (KIS), due to finish in March 2028.
In family and parenting counseling, I have worked with people in a wide range of circumstances: single parents, LGBTQ+ families, parents caring for their children, large families, separating couples and many others. This work taught me how important it is to respect different perspectives.
I work respectfully and impartially, while also speaking clearly about what I observe and translating professional perspectives into practical steps.
You can call me on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m., or contact me via the contact form, email or WhatsApp. If I am in a session, I will call you back. Please let me know whether you would like to attend as a couple or on your own and suggest a few suitable times.
My service is counseling, not psychotherapy. It does not replace psychotherapeutic, psychiatric or medical treatment.
